 \n- Using the command line\n- The ideas behind concepts like users\, files
 \, processes and permissions\n- Linux directory structure\n- Handling text
  and other files from the console\n- The vim text editor\n- A brief introd
 uction automating tasks with shell scripting\n\nTip: This course goes toge
 ther well with our cluster introduction course\, and we have scheduled the
 m in the same week.\n\nAlthough this course is open to everyone\, it is pr
 imarily geared towards cluster users. That means that neither Graphical Us
 er Interfaces nor topics that require root access (e.g. installation\, adm
 inistration) are covered. All topics covered are distro-independent.\n\nTh
 is course will be held at least twice\, over two consecutive half-days in 
 each case.\n\nRegistration happens via eCampus. We may schedule additional
  course dates.\n\nIMPORTANT: after registering\, you MUST JOIN ONE OF THE 
 GROUPS.
